SEVEN physically disabled students from Sunbury Manor School were invited to Ernest Bevin School in Tooting to meet Paralympian runner Tim Predergast and British and Commonwealth Judo competitor Tom Davies.

The students attended a question and answer session, posed for photos and played seated volleyball with students from the college and the athletes themselves.

The day was rounded off with Sunbury Manor suggesting a re-match on home ground with Ernest Bevin students and the athletes and a date is to be confirmed.

Cats vanish in sinister mystery

Mystery surrounds the disappearance of three cats from the same Sunbury home in seven months.

Owner Sarah Wilson is distraught after the latest disappearance from her home in Spelthorne Grove, which happened last week.

Thieves strike

Thousands of pounds worth of laptops and phones were stolen from a business in Sunbury and police are looking for witnesses.

Two burglars drove to the business, in Hanworth Road, in a white transit van and broke in by forcing open a metal door and then smashing into a security cage and stealing a large number of laptops and mobile phones, before driving off.

ZodiacX Factor bonanza

The Zodiac Musical Society begins a three-day run of its very own musical ZodiacX Factor on Thirsday May 21 at the Riverside Arts Centre, Thames Street.

Performances on all three nights begin at 7.45 and there's a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm. Tickets for the evening cost £10 and £8 for the matinee. Box office, 01932 220167

Gardens in bloom

The seventh Sunbury Open Gardens Day will be held on Sunday 28th June in aid of the Shooting Star Hospice for children in Hampton and St. Mary's Church.

The event was enjoyed by over 600 people last year and six new gardens will be open to visitors this year.
