PARENTS have criticised a decision to keep Sunbury Manor School open after two year eight pupils contracted swine flu, which has now been declared a pandemic.
The boy and girl started to feel unwell on Wednesday last week and were diagnosed with the virus the next day. They were immediately told to stay away for seven days.
HOUSING developers are closing in on London Irish's Lower Sunbury headquarters after the rugby club announced it was close to securing a move across the village to Hazelwood Golf Centre.
Were the deal to go through, up to 350 new homes could be built on the existing 6.4-hectare site, in The Avenue, in what the club says would be a "high quality and well designed residential development", although it has not yet submitted a planning application.
The club, which owns the land and will submit the application itself, says it is still at an early design stage, adding it would be within planning limits, which stand at between 35-55 properties per hectare.
