Bishop Wand students take part in road safety workshop
Theatre and education were brought together for the students of Bishop Wand School on Wednesday (10) afternoon as they took part in a workshop about road safety.
Students invited the Mayor of Spelthorne Councillor Caroline Spencer to join them at the school, in Layton's Lane, Sunbury, to watch and take part in the forum workshops which gave advice on keeping safe on the road and anti-social driving.
As part of the Surrey county council Drive Smart campaign, theatre troupe Collingwood Learning Group engaged with students from Year 7 and Year 12 to make sure they also understood the influence of others on the road.
Assistant headteacher Richard Jennings, said: "The issue of road safety is of high importance for the whole of our student body.
"The Collingwood Learning Group tackled the issue of safe driving in an innovative and engaging way and provided our Year 12 students with practical everyday advice on staying safe on the road."
